The '69 hull is about 4" deeper which makes it a better deep-water boat than the '68. - less pounding, as it slices through the waves easier, and less spray over the front, as it rides higher. On the other hand, the '68 is a better turner - more like a sports car. The '69 can be turned too sharply and the prop will cavitate as it comes out of the water. It is almost impossible to turn the '68 too sharply. Both are fine boats. The '69 may be one or two miles per hour faster at top speed, although there are so many other variables that it's difficult to tell. My brother keeps the '68 on a lift for waterskiing and tubing on his inland lake, and I take the '69 up north for Lake Michigan and Lake Leelanau trips.
